At the Tukufu Ellen Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of education and the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child. Established in Nairobi, Kenya, our foundation is dedicated to creating opportunities and offering hope to less privileged children, with a particular focus on rescuing girls from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early forced marriages. Through our efforts, we aim to give these children a chance for a better future.
Our Story
The Tukufu Ellen Foundation was founded with a mission to address the pressing challenges faced by young girls in Kenya. Our journey began with a small group of passionate individuals who were deeply moved by the plight of girls forced into FGM and early marriages. We recognized the urgent need to intervene and provide these girls with the support and resources they need to escape these harmful practices and access education.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between sponsors and less privileged children, rescuing young girls from harmful practices and offering them a chance to thrive through education. We are committed to: Rescuing and placing girls forced into FGM and early marriages into safe educational environments. Providing counseling and mentoring to help them heal and grow. Building social responsibility in our children, empowering them to give back to their communities. Striving to become an independent and self-sustaining entity.
We envision a world where every child, regardless of their background, has access to education and the opportunity to reach their full potential. By rescuing girls from harmful practices and supporting their education, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change that extends beyond individual lives to entire communities.
What We Do
